Hi all,

Just want to let you know that a group of KEGS parents are looking into setting up a dedicated bus service from Braintree to KEGS and CCHS to start next year. We need a minimum of 39 pupils, ideally 50, so if you are applying for KEGS or CCHS and are interested in the bus, please let me know. KEGS currently has 27 pupils from Braintree and immediate environs, plus 10 more feasibly on the route, so with the new intake, this could definitely be do-able :D

We have found a local company that can undertake the contract, bus will have designated pick up and drop off points through Braintree and Great Leighs - other villages may be included depending on viability, seatbelts, CCTV, barcode entry so you will be able to check your child is on the bus, journey time will be shorter as route more direct than the public service. Looking like the cost will be £5 per day for years 7-11, £6 for sixth formers - this is based on the lowest number that makes the service viable, so the more we get, the cheaper it is - this price is only slightly more expensive than the cost of the public service. There will be the ability to pay by monthly direct debit after the initial term, so cost can be spread - monthly cost will be £81.25 based on the £5 per day price.

Hoping there is some interest! :D :D :D :D
