DS was 29th on waiting list , now moved to 21st for KEGS.
He got 352.89 Out of catchment.

Not sure to Keep hopes alive for KEGS ... until september.
KEGS was our first choice. Westcliff second. Glad we have WSB now in hand.

Hi folks

Spoke to Westcliff and they said that cutoff score is 335 , is that correct and this is not what was listed on the last 4 years admission score?
2nd question ----if SOHSB cutoff offer is 303 , what score do the students have in waiting list ?
are they OOC or less than 303?
do all I/C students with 303 have been offered a place in SOHSB?

Thanks

303 is the minimum qualifying score for the Southend and Westcliff grammar schools. If the cut-off for IC on March 1st was 303, that would probably indicate that all IC applicants got a place. Below 303 is not eligible for the waiting list but you can register continuing interest (when we did this for DD for SHSG, it was essentially by making a mid-year application later on in the autumn term, but this was a few years back as she is in year 12 now).

The cut-off on March 1st for OOC will not have been anywhere near the minimum required score - there are only 30 guaranteed OOC places (plus any leftover IC places) and far more OOC applicants than this, even if a certain number of them only had SHSB as second, third or even fourth preference after KEGS / Westcliff / CRGS / all of the above..

Thank you to all those who have posted scores. Do post waiting list positions etc. when they are released. It really does help everyone to see where the cut-offs are (and also identify any admission mistakes).

Do keep posting scores, especially borderline ones (pm me if you would rather do this anonymously). I will try to update regularly.

Thanks Blitz
