100% agree that if it is a medical issue then that trumps everything and SATs can go hang. However, if it was for a holiday or wedding etc, despite not being a fan of SATs, I would be on the school's side!

Not to worry About SATS if there are other valid reasons to misss the tests which always can be negotiated with headteacher through a meeting.
