Without giving anything away about the content of the exam, how did your ds or dd find the exam? information about exam content removed by moderator Overall it’s hard to judge how he did. He was self-tutored so I’m proud of him regardless and he can now enjoy a well-earned break.

My son sat the paper yesterday and thought the same. He was surprised and can’t judge how he did.

My DS felt the mocks he did were harder but that doesn't mean he found it easy. He didn't enjoy the English as much as the maths but that's been the case from day 1 of his journey.

Afterwards he went on a bike ride with his friends, they were out for hours burning up energy. He came back and said what a great day it'd been(exam included). I can't complain about anything he's done and am very proud of his efforts :D

Ds was a nervous wreck the night before. Now he's on cloud nine. Not because he thinks he did well, he's just glad it's over. Doesn't realise our agony waiting for the results has just begun lol

He couldn't judge the difficulty of the paper. Only said English was OK and almost a quarter of the maths questions he couldn't do.

Not really getting much from my DS (or asking for it for the time being). A word of advice for anyone reading this for next year. If you can travel and have the choice I would not pick KEGS to sit the exam; the pure volume of people and sight of the 300m (as far as I could see) queue added to the stress.

I would not recommend WHSG for exam day for next year, it was chaos.

My DS was so happy after the exam ,he came out smiling to me ... I was so happy to see him and then asked “how did you find ?” And he said I missed 7 questions from maths and also I have done ok for English... but happy because it’s over....

It is very long waiting game for parents..

He was self tutored , so I am really proud of him and myself too.....

I have to say my DS and myself found SHSB to be extremely efficient and well organised. The same was the case with my eldest DS who sat it 2 years ago. There was apparently 500 students there on Saturday so it took time to register but they are all allocated a desk in small classrooms with around 10 people or less in each and my DS said it was extremely quiet during his exam (there was just 8 in his room). They then let them out a classroom at a time so no huge outflux of children all at once. Overall very pleased with how they managed such a large number of parents and children.

Way far more people than I expected at SHSG. It was a nightmare for the teachers to organise. Some came with the entire family, including grand parents with queues to the bathroom etc! Must have been quite stressful for 10-11 yr old! A bit overwhelming for me! In the morning driving into SHSG from Shenfield was ok, but going back the A27 was a complete nightmare! I hope that Essex will follow the likes of Kent, and get the kids to sit for this exam at their local primary school. That would be far less stressful for the kids!
