Waiting Room - 2021 Entry

Post by failingtopass »

I gather the last set of Exams will be held this morning - I know a lot of us will be waiting until Thursday.

I created this space for those like me waiting for the results... in eager anticipation as well as trepidation!

Good luck to everyone!

Please try not to discuss any questions specific to the exam until perhaps 12pm onwards as i gather some children are sitting their exams this morning.

Good luck to everyone!
Please do not post any details about the test even after today. As moderators we can't be on top of exactly when the last pupils sit every test tin the country, many areas use the same test right out to July the following year, so it is safest not to give any details at all. Please see the frequently asked questions, specifically:
faq17. Can I post information about 11+ test content (e.g. questions my child can recall), or request such information?

Remember that there may well be sessions for late sitters [and special arrangements for children moving into the area after all the scheduled sittings].
As a responsible forum we will not allow anything to be posted that might prejudice the integrity of the test.

No one should be revealing any aspect of test content unless a moderator has agreed.
[It is for moderators to decide if and when it is safe to post, based on a knowledge of local circumstances where possible, or on reliable evidence provided by members.]
Evidence that it is safe to post should be clear and beyond doubt (e.g. in writing from an authoritative source).

It's nerve-wracking, isn't it? It feels a bit of an unknown quantity this year, for example, how the six months out of school will have affected the pass mark etc. Good luck to everyone waiting for results.

Just out of interest, Did all schools offer a 2nd sitting. I know the Westcliff Schools did on Monday.

I suspect having the papers quarantined for 72hrs or so means people will start marking them from Thursday. Nervous week this is going to to be.

The wait is just awful my daughter sat the first sitting which feels like such a long time ago. Just one more week to wait.

It’s so hard to gage if she’s done well or really hasn’t and what the pass mark will be this year for in catchment.

The pass mark for the Southend grammar schools will be 'the pass mark', whether for IC or OOC applicants. CCHSG doesn't have a pass mark at all; the only reference to a particular score in the school's admissions policy is the priority given to LAC with a standardised score of at least 320 and then to up to 20 girls in receipt of pupil premium, in the overall order of merit with a standardised score of at least 320. No geographical condition is applied to any of the places. All other places are just allocated in score order.

So when do you think the results will actually be available online? 00.01 or more likely the morning?

Trying to decide whether to stay up to midnight or set my alarm for 5am!!!

Anyone with experience?

2018 came 6am ish... Some people had access earlier by accident, although just raw scores.

2019 I think was 9am.

2020 - Year of the Covid. May get results socially distanced! 9am I reckon.
