CCHS waiting list - 2022

Post by winright »

Hi,

Please can some shed some light on Chelmsford county waiting list. What's is the realistic position to get an offer. My daughter is in 10 WL OOC.

The online page says the listing position could go up or down. whats that means?

Thank you

CCHS is taking 180 (6 x 30 per class) and only 20% = 36 places are for OOC. If your DD is 10 on WL there will need to be 10 current offer holders decided not to attend CCHS in September. So currently 10/36=27.8% needed to decline their offer for your DD to get a place.

By saying the listing position could go up and down means if someone had decline a place your DD position will move to 9 but if someone had won an appeal which means the school might have to take an additional student your DD WL could go down to 11.

Or if someone joined the waiting list, who ranked above your DD.

Basically, waiting lists must be ranked in the same order as the ranking for the initial allocation of places (that is, according to the oversubscription criteria). What the admission authority must not do is rank the list according to the length of time members have been on it.
