STR likely place scores.
Hi, I am new to this forum and new to the 11plus experience. Does anyone know the change in scores this year for STR? A parent at my son's school suggested that the qualifying score this year is 210 where as last year it was 220. Is this correct and if so does that mean those boys who have scored 220 this year are likely to get a place?

Spoke to the LEA after results day and asked the same question. Here's what I was told :-
1. STR has 108 places available (public knowledge)
2. Qualifying score is 210 i.e. you need 210 or more to be considered for a place (again, public knowledge)
3. This year 250 boys achieved the qualifying score.
4. Getting over 210 just gets you into the "qualifying pool" - it's then the top 108 that get the offers.
5. The scores for the 108th ranked boy in the last 2 years have been 220 and 222 (2008, 2009).
Of course, the usual disclaimers apply - the past may not reflect the future etc. Also, lots of boys going for STR are going for other schools as well.
