Just found this on the Pate's website:
Tuesday July 6, 9.15 a.m. Tours for Year 5 children & parents
Tuesday September 14, 6.45p.m. onwards OPEN EVENING for Year 6 pupils and parents
Wednesday September 15, 6.45p.m. onwards OPEN EVENING for Year 6 pupils and parents
Friday October 1, 12 noon Deadline to hand in registration form to sit exam at Pate’s
Saturday October 9 Entrance Test
Friday October 15 Exam results notification sent out
Sunday October 31 Preference forms to be returned to LA
Tuesday March 1 2011 Allocation of school places by LA
Presumably the other grammars will be issuing notice for their (earlier) open days and, of course, the test/results etc dates will be the same. Hope this helps.

Thanks for those Milla.
It is going to be a tight squeeze fitting all the open days in. Most of them where held in October previously and DS1 wasn't interested in Grammar and prep work until he saw the school. Would have been an impossible task for us if this had happened when he sat it. I think for some it is going to be a major disadvantage.
Maybe you should add them to the sticky?

Thankyou...was just off to look!!
Im hoping Tommies and Crypt will update their open days/evenings asap.......ds's school are rubish with any info!
Im actually really pleased that the date has moved to October....the November one always came the Sat after the Fri that they all got back from a residential trip...not great!

Now-I know im being thick(!)but to apply to STRS for the test-is it a different form or is it that its sent to Shire Hall as opposed to the school itself?
Ive looked on their site and the link to the admissions team-but cant find a different form to download......not that i need to of course,im just starting the OCD about the whole malarky now......

Thank you for flagging it up! Have now booked to go to the morning visit to Pates.
They said they have bought it forward as the entrance exam is earlier. They normally do the tours after the open evenings, but thought it was better to do it this term.

Summer Showcase is on Tuesday 22 June 2010 from 9am – 12 pm and from 2 pm – 3 pm.
Open Day on Wednesday 15 September – please arrive for either 9.30 am or 2.15 pm
Open Evening on Thursday 16 September 2010 from 6 – 8.30 pm
