I agree with the guesstimate that there'll be 1,500 - 2,000 taking the exam altogether, of which 1,000 will have ticked the box to be considered for Pates. I remember years ago an MP standing up in Parliament saying that Pates was oversubscribed by a factor of 10:1. So if they have always had 120 places, that suggests that even then they had 1,000+ wanting to be considered.

Once all this is over, perhaps we should write to GCC asking for the numbers - Freedom of Information and all that? It'd be interesting to know.

PS Wish I could do sparklies, but am congenitally incapable. Something to do with my index finger being longer than my ring finger apparently...

I think I am worst mother on the planet..... I am working tomorrow morning and SO need to be there when DD gets results..... To hug/ congratulate or otherwise! Or reading Milla's post to understand the letters.....
So have made DD1 and DH PROMISE not to open them until I get back!
I like to think this does NOT make me a bad mother merely a concerned/ loving/ possibly slightly insane one!
