Hi

Could anyone tell me whether it is possible to gain entry to SHS in year 8? The website just says "Please contact the In-year Admissions Team at the Local Authority in the first instance for entry to other years."

Does it make any difference whether or not you have previously sat the 11+ but not gained a place?

If it is possible what is the testing process?

Maths, English and I think maybe Science tests administered when the school asks you to go. It is then up to them to decide if your DD is of the right standard, and if they are full you might have to appeal for oversubscription. Someone I know is going through this atm, and someone I know even better did it at another Gloucestershire GS recently too.

Email the school would be my advice.
