Have now received the pass mark and rankings for Marling for DS...

He has achieved a ranking of 190.

Does anyone know whether this is good enough to get in - will there really be 70 boys going elsewhere (Pates/STRS/Crypt/others...) meaning he jumps up the list to enter???

Any advice always welcome on past / current knowledge.

Thanks.............

Certainly last year it would have been enough

I know boys who took the test in 2010 and 2011 who had scores in the high 190s and got places.

Sorry I mean 2009 and 2010. Last year boys with scores well into the 200s got places.

Marling admissions are saying, "If your son has attained the qualifying score and you put Marling down as your first preference you can be cautiously optimistic of him gaining a place."
Is this a wise thing to be saying with qualifying scores going down to a ranking of (at least) 270?
Just wondering.

I know of someone with a qualifying Marling score and ranked in the 290's! They were slightly short of a Crypt pass.

Surely further evidence that this comment is misleading and potentially 'dangerous':
