Transport from Bristol to Sir Thomas Rich or Marling

Post by kaisar1 »

Any information regarding transport availability from Bristol to STR or Marling?
My son A is likely to get admission in STR next year. Is there anyone else from Bristol area going to STR? Pate or Marling?

Thanks for your reply Dr Watson.
Have you done any arrangements for initial months, before you move?

Yeah got in touch with the school and they have given few contacts for parents whose children take the train from Bristol Parkway

How many children are from Bristol area? any idea?
Just wondering if there are quite a few, we can consider arranging bus/coach.

7-8 not more than that I think. Everyone takes a train and per-arranged taxi from station.

wow dr watson, how much does that cost. I knew the walk was a bit of a trek, and maybe not sensible in a Pates uniform, but I had no idea people were pre-arranging taxis. Do you know how much that, and the train fare, are going to be as we may (hopefully) one day be in a position to have to consider it too. many thanks

There is a public bus that you can get to Longlevens, which stops near STR. The bus stop is about a 10 min walk from the train station. Look on the stagecoach website. Or it might be easier to get a train to Gloucester, then a bus from there.

Wouldn't it be so much simpler to opt for Marling if you are not planning on moving to Cheltenham or Gloucester when your DS starts secondary school?
