Personally if I put my DC into private primary to gain an unfair advantage into money saving Grammar school..........................I would keep a low profile

- so it's not just an Essex phenomenon. Apparently it's because they find uniform more comfortable than 'home clothes' to do academic work in, the schools don't tell them that they are expected to at all. DS2StJamesDad wrote:The mind boggles as to why private school kids would come in uniform

(state primary, a bit of practice at home) and I had visions of them spending all the summer in uniform at their tutor's and mock exams...

Is that why they wear their uniform then?
As a sign that they are just using the test to get cheaper fees?

Or perhaps it is simply that they had come from school to do the test, or had to go to school after?? It's not an uncommon thing to see children in school uniform around stroud on a Saturday.
