Thank you Amber, that makes me feel more confident about her chances. Mixed emotions though as we have heard from a couple of her friends who have just narrowly missed the qualifying mark.

For table:
Pates - not in top 180
Ribston - 244

Not heard from HSFG but imagine that we are far enough above the Ribston cut-off for a pass for HSFG to be likely.

DD will go to Balcarras (sibling in catchment).

Monkeymouse did Ribston give a ranking then? There is nothing on my letter to indicate a ranking.

Housemouse: sorry that was a score not a ranking.

(Should probably explain my slightly opaque post - DD would hate single-sex education and so the girls' grammars are not really an option for her.

However, she does an extracurricular activity with children for whom grammar entry is a Big Thing - luckily her school is NOT like that - and rather than saying 'I failed to get into Pates', it was important for her to be able to say - if she could - that 'I passed for the Gloucester grammars but I have chosen to go to Balcarras'. So I asked for the results to be shared.)

dd got 230 from Ribston and waiting to hear from HSFG.
will this be good enough for a place at Ribston and high enough for a pass at HSFG?

My dd is in Y7 at HSFG and scored 218 for here and 228 for Ribston so your chances look good!! I was really worried her HSFG mark might not be enough but it was. Well done!

Hi all, congratulation to all of you with good news, and to those of you who haven't recieved the news you were hoping for, as others have put far more eloquently than me, please remember this isnt the end of the world, it's just going to need a different route to the same end..

Ps, sorry I haven't been about for a few hours, had children need to be taught :-)

Lurker giving ds results - didn't qualify

215 for Marling - needed 216
104.5 for Crypt - needed 107.5

So so close to qualifying but not to be!!!
