Which 2013 test was 'harder'?

Re: Which 2013 test was 'harder'?
Every year one of the tests is 'harder' than the other and it's very usual for children to do better on one than the other. It used to be that the second test was harder, or perceived as such, but a couple of years ago it switched. Children I know who sat in 2011, 12 and 13 all said the first test was the harder one.
Our email from STRS with the results (2011) had a score for each paper and a combined one. Think they've always done that.

I have just found the email and yes it does give a breakdown, it had completely passed me by at the time. Thank you.

If the majority of children found the first test more difficult would this have been taken into account when the scores were standardised? So fewer questions 'right' would get a higher standardised score on the harder paper?Flash wrote:My DD and her friends all said the first test was difficult and the second test a lot easier.
