Just wondering how everyone's prep is coming along. I have been learning so many new words reading DDs papers, makes me realise how poorly English was taught in the 80s !

DD dislikes non vocab. It's so tricky especially rotation ! She is certainly better than me at it ! Results vary 60-70% she always seems to rush this paper I think, because she doesn't enjoy it. Glad it's only 10% of the paper

The comprehension is getting tougher but her synonyms and antonyms are fab ! Average result 70-90%.

Math paper completed with tutor so not sure on that one but it is her weaker subject although she enjoys it the most !

She is aiming for 75% in each paper.

BUT the great thing is she wants to try her best and have no regrets, so there isn't much more we can ask of her. Rather her than me ! And I have a degree & 2 professional quals. Amazing what they are expected to be able to do !

We haven't started any papers yet, just a good grounding in all areas, little and often.

Just wondering where the breakdowns of the papers came from (10% for NVR)?

NVR certainly accounted for more than 10% in Warwickshire's CEM test. VR was 50% and Maths and NVR were added together and averaged to get the other 50% - this changed from the year before when they were 33.3% each - it changed with no warning, so I wouldn't assume anything, unless it is there in black and white - which of course it may well be!!

In Bucks the primary schools issued presentation / info with breakdown of scores - we were verbal, 50%, Numerical, 30% and NVR 20%.

I am just going from other areas who use CEM. I appreciate it may vary a little but I think it will never be a key decider as that would go against the intention to change.
