Does anyone know anyone know what Pates score gets in at Ribston?
Has anyone on this forum got in at Ribston or know anything of the requirements?

Friends daughter scored 208 at Pates and got Denmark Road and Ribston
Very confused now.!!! Our daughter scored 218 standardised score at Pates. Did not qualify for Denmark Road but achieved a qualifying score for Ribston Hall. If your friend did achieve qualifying for both Denmark and Ribston with a Pates score of 208, have we been sent an incorrect letter from the admissions team regarding Denmark Road.

How was the score of 218 made up across the two tests? Your
daughter might have scored 114 in one test and 104 in the other.
Based on last year, I believe at Tommie's and Denmark road you
need to score a minimum of 105 in each test. Therefore you can
score 218 which would let you qualify for Ribston but not Denmark
road.

As the county council set the admissions policy for Tommie's and
Denmark road, they have set this 105 policy in each of the tests.
It is well out of line with the remainder of the grammar schools in
the county who do not use the 105 level, but an aggregate or
average score.

Last year I was informed by senior teachers at both schools that
they thought the policy was out of line with the rest of the county
and needed to be changed.

We have been unable to find out the paper scores as neither Denmark Road or Admissions will divulge that information. We understand she may have score alot higher on one paper and just missed with the other but it is frustrating not to know and if other children have been sent letters confirming their achieving mark for Denmark Road with a standardised score of 208 then we have been misinformed.
