Marling school Allocations

Post by rose02 »

Hi,

Can someone share the rank that place is offered?
My friends son is ranked 360 something. but he is not offered the place.
Will there be chance for him during April reallocations?.
I called the Marling to know about the ranking and waiting list but no one is responded.

Thanks

Can any one help please, thank you in advance.

77 boys passed for Marling but did not gain a place.

there is always some movement, and some who get in on appeal, so don't give up yet.

Thank you steppemum.
We shouldn't giveup, but I read that there is late 11plus test in March 2016 and these boys with all the advantages of late March test will be ranked and slotted into the existing waiting list; pushing the already big (77) waiting list.
By the way normally how many are these late test takers?

Is 77 the waiting list of boys wanting a place (sounds very high) or the number that they gave a ranking to beyond their cut off point (who may have applied to STR or Crypt instead?) would be useful info for those with DSs who didn't get an allocation yesterday.

The pass mark for Marling has traditionally been somewhat lower than that for Crypt and much lower than for STRS so I think it unlikely that those on the waiting list for Marling will have secured other grammar places.

Amber - I am not sure that is true any more, I think the last 2 years Crypt may have been lower??
