What a strange comment. Why desperate? It's a very good school that is over subscribed and they easily fill places.

I would say Crypt seem to be the most desperate...They have stated you can still appeal even if you haven't qualified but Ribston have said you will not be considered.

Anybody can appeal any school even if they haven't qualified.

IMHO some of these comments are distasteful.

None of these schools will be desperate....they know how messy the process is....they are good schools who know there will be parents and children out there who have been disappointed who are looking for advice on their options and are happy to provide that advice and support.

You can appeal for all schools even if you do not qualify. My friends son did for Crypt last year and he was offered a place.

Agree some comments distasteful. It's in the interests of all school and all parents / kids to have the best communication possible. I have no doubt all the places will be filled in due course. Will take a while for Crypt going co-ed to settle down in terms of rankings etc.

Meanwhile best of luck to all the kids and enjoy the rest of Year 6!

Yes, I agree. There is no need for negative comments - they are all great schools & suit different children. It’s s privelege to be a pupil at any of them. Crypt going co-ed has completely skewed the rankings this yr but it’ll soon settle. It was a stab in the dark rankings cut off wise but no doubt in the next few months the places will fill.

I think it's best to chalk it up to crazy pre-allocation stress and nerves.
