Does anyone know from kids that have taken past CEM exams if they make you write in answers for reading comprehension sections? Or is it all multiple choice?

Some practice exams have write in questions and others are all multiple choice!

There is no one CEM.

Some do just MC, Some do write in, some do a combination.

You can see which CEM the one you are doing is by looking at the sample booklet on the school website. DG

I never realised this - is it not the same test just sat in different locations then?

No.

DAO and SW Herts do English only CEM, No Maths or NVR

HBS do English and Maths CEM but no NVR.

Others do full CEM but use a different paper. DG

Thank you Steppemum! That’s what I thought.... and thank God for that, the MC questions are hard enough without having to write in answers!!!

Really useful to teach them to use the multiple choice answers to help.
So if they are not sure of the answer, get them to cross out the ones they KNOW are wrong, and then look at the two or three they have left

And all the same paper at each location as I initially thought. Thank you.
