+1 again. They are still quite little, and a lot of their emotions will come from cues given by parents.

And with regard to being the younger sibling of successful older siblings - remind them it is a different test, different questions, a different group of children taking it, that they don't know how older brother or sister would have done if they had taken it, and vice versa.

Do watch out for cruel and boastful friends, though, and if you are the parent of a success story, this is a great time to start teaching sensitivity and consideration for the feelings of others and how best to handle the potential issues around disappointment in friends.

yes echo all that has been said.
I didn't tell mine when the results came through, although dd knows it is the 12th.

I certainly read it first, and let her know in our timing.

It was easy from ds to dd1 as the test changed a lot.
Harder this time as dd1 and dd2 have sat similar exams.

I have always given the message loud and clear that if they pass there is SHS - great school, and of they don't there is *** school - great school, how lucky we are to have 2 good schools to choose from, win-win!
Not sure if they believe me though!

Hello all.

A (very!) oldie here.

Haven’t been here forever.

Eldest has just left Pates to go to uni next weekend ( )
One of his siblings just sat on saterday -obviously a very different test to the one he did
all those years ago!

Aside eldest all the other 6 are home educated thus far with one just heading to specialist secondary just and this sibling wanting to head hopefully to GS.

I’ve been loitering about here and there but thought I’d come and settle in for the hideous wait if you don’t mind?

Nice to see so many still here from way back when!(stroudydad & Amber hi!)
