Question about allocation data

Hello, I am new to the forum and would be very grateful for some help with making sense of the allocation data statistics for recent years.

https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/educ ... e-schools/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am trying to work out which comprehensive schools we might get a place at, if a grammar school application is unsuccessful.

We are in the catchment area for Severn Vale school, 1 mile from the school. The stats for 2019 states 0 places were allocated on distance alone. What does the mean - everyone in the catchment area who applied got a place? All places were allocated based on siblings etc?

I would be very grateful if someone more knowledgeable could explain!

Page 4 of the admissions policy https://www.severnvaleschool.com/attach ... 6&type=pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; only mentions actual distance in the final group - these are children who live outside the defined catchment areas and do not have siblings at the school, so presumably all the places were offered to children in higher categories
