Re: SW Herts consortium schools: admission statistics
Watford Boys has gone down from 220 to 216 for inner.... http://www.watfordboys.org/userfiles/fi ... 20data.pdf
Music 37 down from 39, distances in criteria 2 and 6 have increased. Also total number of applications have gone down from 667 to 597 for 196 places. It will be interesting for next year's cohort as there will be an additional 30 places available when they introduce another form group.

Outer admission cut-off has gone up from 227 to 230 this year. How much does this usually come down between now and September?

Thank you to all on this forum for your valueable advice and information, not sure how the waitlist works but we will be releasing our outer catchment WGGS place, so hopefully this will mean it can be passed on to another.

Re: SW Herts consortium schools: admission statistics
Does anyone know what the academic cut off came down to for the outer catchment this year please?
Re: SW Herts consortium schools: admission statistics
According to the sticky at the top of this thread it was 225 for 2017 and 212 the year before which was lower than the inner catchment.

How many students applied under Academic Ability and Musical Aptitude tests for Secondary Transfer 2018?
681 applicants applied under the Academic Ability test. Scores ranged from 266 (highest) down to 138 (lowest). 24 places were awarded under this criterion.
The lowest score allocated a place on 1st March 2018 is 227. *Please note that since 2016 entry there has been a change in provider for the verbal reasoning test this has resulted in lower scores being allocated under this criterion.

I think the Watford Boys results are wrong on the first page. Should read:
Outer academic - 233
Inner academic - 221
Outer music - 40
Inner music - 32.
Outer academic - 233
Inner academic - 221
Outer music - 40
Inner music - 32.

I'm surprised the cut-offs for Watford Boys and Girls have gone up this year. Weren't they expected to go down with an extra class in both schools?

Re: SW Herts consortium schools: admission statistics
The extra places were allocated proportionately to the different entry criteria. So for academic, that meant an extra 4/5 for the inner catchment and 2/3 for outer.Middlesexmum wrote:I'm surprised the cut-offs for Watford Boys and Girls have gone up this year. The effect of this handful of extra places has obviously been offset by an increase in the number of applicants and/or an improved performance by SW Herts students compared to the sample population used to determine the standardisation stats.
