Congratulations to your son Rivermoon, I'll bet that was a shock and a half this late in the day.
He must be truly excited and you must be running round like a headless chicken now trying to sort everything out
It's a fantastic feeling to get such good news, I'm sure the smile will stay on your faces for many a long week now.
Well done!!

Hi Laser 123, hope I can give you a bit of hope. My DS also got 247 for his result last year and was at the top of CI list. We had all the same feelings as you do, that guilty feeling does get to you, thinking you could have done more for him, so close yet so far. However, on the first day of the new term he was offered a place. I really do think the list will move, even through the first week of term. I have everything crossed for you and will be thinking of you. Hang in there.
Thanks - really kind of you for sharing - nice to know I am not the only one going through these emotions - my son is really keen on football so I was a little hesitant on pushing him too much for WG because they do not do any football on the curriculum - of course over the last 5 months my son has decided that Rugby is actually the sport he prefers and of course the school he has got into is not really into Rugby - I must remember when my other child is going through this that parents know best and must not let the parental guilt get to me too much. I should remember when I was a child my parents would not even have thought to discuss such matters with me. You live and learn and I really appreciate all the support .....
Great news Rivermoon and congrats to your son!!
All the hard work paid off in the end!!
Laser123, i do hope you get some good news, even if it is in those first few weeks of term, let us know what happens.
We'll be hoping for the same sort of last minute result ourselves so will post back if anything happens for our daughter with her schools.
In the meantime, enjoy the last few weeks of the hols folks

Hi all, term has started and unfortunately all students have turned up on the first day for Watford Boys, so I am going to have to accept that my son will not be going to Watford Grammar. I am very lucky that my son got into another local school which is good. My son is already for his first day at secondary school and very excited and I will now move on. I would like to thank everyone for their support and advice. Next year I start the whole process again but a little wiser.
