Apart from QE boys, does anyone know which boys/mixed schools in the area offer Mandarin/Putonghua either as an extra curricular class or as a language choice?

Hi I have a friend whose child goes to Alexandra Park School in Haringey a good achieving comp where the children learn mandarin. Not sure to what level though. :)

It has been my experience (I'm Chinese) that Mandarin doesn't get seriously pursued at GCSE level. Where you see the language listed in a school's GCSE results it is invariably 1 pass and I'm guessing that it is invariably some BBC kid who studied it at Sunday Chinese School.

If you are serious about it for your child then I suggest you locate a nearby Sunday Chinese School as opposed to letting it influence your choice of secondary school.
