Hi All

At my DD's state primary school - only 3 children out of 60 took the grammar school exams.
Result was:

1 = Latymer offer
1= Woodford offer

Copella - your school must have a great music teacher! Well done! :D

Cheers
Boo

Wow. That is a fantastic achievement. I have known two but not three. Did they go to the DAO music centre? DG

Hi DAO spoke to little one this morning and he tells me that I was wrong :? one of the music places is in fact a sib place (twins) so we have 2 music places at his school, but then what seems like a load of sibs.

Hi,

At DD's state primary, I'd say there were around 18 children that sat for selective schools in a year group of 90.

Result was:

Latymer= 5
DAO= 6
QE= 0
A few gained indie places. There are a couple of children on waiting lists for DAO and Latymer.

2 is still a great achievement for one school when you consider how large the catchment area is , the whole of Islington, a chunk of Herts, Barnet and Enfield. There will have been candidates from hundreds of primary schools, I know the Y7 intake is from a hundred plus different primary schools and I know many primary schools that have many apply and none get in. Moonmum 11 out of 60 is great and 6 for DAO is very impressive. Are they all taking the places? DG

Made a mistake.3 on waiting lists.Still very good though.This year was an exception-some very bright kids.The majority of children who sat the exams had tutoring from year 4/5 -some had 2 ,and a lot of children went to Kumon.
