Sibling rule at Watford girls grammar

Hi All,
My daughter is currently preparing for her 11plus. Our first choice would be Watford girls grammar. We live in the Wd19 postcode area and she has a younger 6 year old sibling. If we are successful in getting her in, will the sibling criteria be applied for her younger sister? The reason I am asking is because I have been told that not all siblings automatically get in. Sometimes the younger sibling will still have to sit the 11 plus. Is this true? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hiya

Currently the sibling policy would work fine in your situation. The sibling policy is 4th in the list after "looked after", the 10% closest to the school and children of permanent staff. You need to be in WD19 4 or 5 area to be in the admissions area. If you are all should be fine.

They have the right to change the policy and indeed, this year have included siblings of the Boys Grammar school after a few years absence.

I know a few parents who make their sibling do the exam for fairness and also to satisfy their curiosity if they could have got a place on their own ability. WGGS won't tell you the exam results but Parmiters will tell you if you place Parmiters on your selection list.

My DD is at WGGS and it is an awesome school and she loves it, the best of luck!
