South West Herts Consortium exam results 2013

Hello

We received results for my son - which we are all very disappointed with. We do not think he can score such a low mark especially in Maths. We are really not trying to brag that he's is bright inMaths, but just trying to be realisitic...

Anyway, we contacted couple of schools, and were told that re-marking and/or sight of papers is only possible AFTER 1st March 2013 when schools allocation is completed.

In my opinion, that's pretty pointless to do this AFTER we find that there are no places left !

It is entirely possible :

1. That our son has made serious errors in the paper to score such a low mark - in that case we put our hand up and move on.
2. An error has been made either with the marking, or there were 2 persons with same names and wrong mark allocated to wrong person.

All we seek to achieve is clarify 1 or 2 above.

However, we are told it can't be done until after1st March 2013 - by which time its too late. What if the Consortium discover that a genuine mistake WAS made, but now there are no places left in our chosen school !

Does anyone know how to approach the Consortium to resolve this matter - is there a published Appeals process one can follow ?

Thank you for any pointers.

Sam
