Re: Watford Boys vs Chesham Grammar
Watford or Chesham both are rated more highly on academic than SCD. It is a comprehensive and not grammar. Very mixed abilities. If you can have either Watford or Chesham, you should choose between those.
Re: Watford Boys vs Chesham Grammar
when i checked last it said chesham became a 'high' school.
anyone know anything else about this?

Re: Watford Boys vs Chesham Grammar
It used to be called Chesham High until a few years ago, but it was changed to Chesham Grammar in 2010 – partly because the denomination 'High', in Bucks at least, is largely used for girls'-only grammars whereas Chesham is mixed.
If you are asking whether the school has ever been anything other than a GS, the answer is not since the 1960s

Re: Watford Boys vs Chesham Grammar
Chesham Grammar used to be called as Chesham High prior to 2010. Online application system is not replicating this yet and still says Chesham High.
Looking at last year GCSE results and subjects taken by the pupils, Chesham Grammar seems to have performed much better academically than WGSB.

Actually Watford boys is 25% academic while SCD is 10% academic.Mgnmum wrote:Watford boys is actually more comprehensive than SCD. SCD takes 30% on academic ability while watford boys is only 20% both are officially comprehensives, despite the name of watford boys ( the girls is the same) neither are full grammar schools. Hertfordshire unfortunately has no grammar schools,
