Music places
If your DC got into a school via the music exam, then are you told it was a music place
Re: Music places
Not in the S W Herts consortium schools, but some people can work out that it's a music place if that's the only admissions criterion their child meets.

Re: Music places
You need to say what school it is. At DAO you will receive a letter that will tell you that you were allocated a music place and if you accept it you will receive a letter detailing the expectations the school will have of you as the holder of a music place. DG
Re: Music places
It was for WGGS. My DD did well in both academic and the music and has been offered a place there:) just wanted to know under which criteria she got a place.

Re: Music places
Well done to her. I am surprised that the letter you should get today will not tell you which of the criteria she got in under. Is music higher than academic on the critieria? At DAO it is, so even if you got the number one place in the academic exam you would still be allocated a music place because it is a higher criteria. DG
Re: Music places
Music is a higher criteria that academic so if not befoe you should be able to work it when the cut off scores are published for this year or by seeing what scores people have been offered.
Re: Music places
Can someone let me know what the movement is like on music places at WGGS. We are very happy with our allocation (second pref) and trying to decide whether it is worth the uncertainty of staying on CI list for us and dd.
Re: Music places
Have just had an e mail confirmation. Waiting to receive our letter which will hopefully explain more.
