wow 50 new students that is quite a lot? dagroupie is there a link to how the A level curriculum is changing anywhere on this site?

Thanks everyone for all your replies, it is most helpful. I have found this forum to be so useful over the years and such a good source of information. I knew you would all have some interesting replies for me.

Partly, I also think its about my DD exerting her independence, wanting to be different from the rest of her friends and having a change of scenery. Personally, I would like her to stay where she is as the 6th form girls at WGSG are what sold that school to me in the first place however, I do admire her wanting to be brave and have a change as long as its not just for change sake. A levels are hard enough that you want them to be doing subjects that they enjoy but it is important that they are not looked upon as a soft option.

Do A level subjects have different points values for universities?

Timeline above.

A level points are changing so you'd need to check with the UCAS website; they are the same for each subject. Most unis offer on grades though, not points.

Any massive recent recommendations in North London for clever girls to do the sciences and geography?
