Opting out of CI for a school and replacing it with another

Hi all. Thanks for all the valuable advice over the past few months. My DD is currently sitting on the music CI list for our ranked 2nd and 3rd choice schools in 4th and 5th positions. Please can I have your thoughts regarding the chances of her gaining a place at either of these via CI (wggs and SCD) - her score is 37 which would be fine in previous years but uncertain if the possibility of list movement would include her at this point. My second question is that today is the final chance to opt out of CI. DD really wanted DCHS and as places had been gained from our Herts area in previous years we put it as ranked #1 as a bit of a long shot. She’s now also on CI for this and we have been allocated 4th choice from our list. Can we remove DCHS and replace with another Herts school that has music places to see if she may gain an offer there to replace 4th choice? Any advice gratefully received. Thank you

You can but not in the first CI round if the school was not one of your initial 4 choices. You can find all the information you need here:

https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/servic ... rs.aspx#CI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The outer list tends to move more. I think you stand a good chance with both those waiting list positions.

Thank you Hera, that’s really helpful - I missed that on the Herts site. We’re in the outer catchment area so fingers crossed and to everyone else anxiously waiting to hear.
