We live in catchment of Watford Grammar Girls. My daughter wants to go to that school and I have applied for the SW Herts Academic test.
Reading the admissions policy, I gather, they have more places for community placements-137 as compared to academic placements-52.
Now I am in dilemma. Will they consider my daughter under academic or community placement? Have I compromised my daughter's chances of getting in by applying for academic test?
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

You have applied for the test, not the school.
When you apply for the school in October you will be able to apply under both criteria.
You will get your academic result in October and you will apply under academic with this result. DG
