Music Scores for WGS-what do they actually mean?

From another thread:

Watford Girls have finally confirmed that their September cuts were as follows:
Academic: 207 (both inner and outer)
Music: 38 innner / 36 outer

What does 38 and 36 actually mean?
Do they mean 38/36 out of the 60 questions of the MAT to qualify for round 2 performance?

TIA folks!

No, they are referring to the score required for the second round, out of 45.

The score required in round 1 in order to qualify for round 2 has been 43/60 for each of the last 3 years.

Thank you Spanner,
so it has been 45 out of 60 questions of the Stage I MAT so as to qualify for stage 2.

How did i confuse myself with an “out of 45” score?
:)

So in round 1 (theory), you will need around 45/60 to be invited back to round 2 (practical). This score is fairly consistent and applies to the test in general and isn't specific to any school.
If you get through to round 2, the school websites will tell you the scores that have been required to gain entry to that school over the last few years.
So for Watford Girls in the outer/Traditional area for example, you would have needed 40/45, 36/45 and 42/45 to get an offer on March 1 in the last 3 years.

Ahhh thx ,
so the 45 is the maximum score for the Round 2, I see.

Hope everyone is keeping well in these difficult times and preparation is doing well in all fronts.
