The government guidance says selective areas should try to combine tests if that's possible, to avoid subjecting kids to more tests than is necessary this year. Does anyone know why the 6 Kent grammars that run their own tests don't just use the Kent Test result but with a lower qualifying score? Kind of like super selective schools have a higher score, they could have a lower one. They seem coy about saying it, but the only reason they run these extra tests is to select a little lower down the attainment scale because not enough local kids pass the Kent Test.

All this puts children through extra tests for no reason, and costs us Kent tax payers money too.
