Crisis of Confidence

Is anybody else going through this syndrome at the moment?

Tears, and exclamations of "I can't do or remember ANYTHING "is the current state of play in this household.

No amount of saying "it doesn't matter" or "just do your best" seems to make any difference.

I've given up suggesting any more homework or going through papers because it just causes more aggravation.

Trying to concentrate on a calm atmosphere at the moment, but quietly tearing my hair out.

My son did exactly this about 2 weeks before his 11+ last year. His results suddenly hit an all time low and he had a huge confidence crisis. Looking over the tests he had done it was mainly stupid mistakes. I just took a huge step back, and made sure he had lots of good food, sleep and exercise. On the day he passed with flying colours.
Hope this gives you a bit of piece of mind, it really is an awful time and thankfully will be over soon. Keep your chin up, most of the kids I know really did seem to pull out all the stops on the day!

I think it is quite common.

It's a lot of pressure on small shoulders
