Does anyone on here know what the raw score equivalents are for, say 120? I know it depends on standardisation age etc but just a rough guide would be reassuring.x

According to the Judd website a pass mark of 120 is approximately equal to 50% raw score.

Last year the marks required for a place a GS were an aggregate of 360 and at least 114 in all 3 papers.

Tonbridgemum do you know if the info is correct that a raw score of around 50% is enough for a standardised score of 120?

it all depends how all teh children did. the standardisation evens things out in the case of a particularly clever year or a particularly hard paper.

It obviously varies from year to year, as many have explained, but a raw score 50% roughly equates to a score of 120 most years, and 75% equates to 140. 140 is the modal score (the most frequently occurring) on each paper. That's not the same as saying most children score full marks but simply 140 occurs more often than say 139, 126, 118 etc.

Hi "All Forumers". Would just like to say I have not been on for a while but since I posted my comment/question I have had a heap of responses and would thank you all for your comments. I would like to say I am less stressed/worried but unfortunately I am not and am waiting anxiously for the results. Tracy your comments regarding the pass marks were extremely encouraging!!!. Thank you all.

I don't think 140 is the modal (mode) score. I think you'll find it's 100.

Not necessarily the case. 100 will be the mean average score. However, there will be a disproportionately high number of 140's, because this will cover all raw scores of about 75% and above.
