Would it not fit with the " new pupils theme " twinkles ?
Well I just asked him again and he said it was called School Rules which could be taken two ways couldn't it? He also said one of them was something to do with writing about a relative or a friend :?:

My daughter said she chose the subject where you could write about visiting relatives...

I think that was the diary entry one - friends or relatives visiting.
Quite a good variety of topics anyway.

twinkles wrote:Oh dear, my son said he wrote about something to do with what rules he would change at school if he could or similar I can't quite remember but it doesn't sound like that would fit into any of the categories that have been mentioned!!!!!! :?

My son also said he chose a title not on the list - something like 'My Brilliant Idea'....his friend chose a title about 'What makes a good friend'. Seems like there were more than 6 titles floating around....

The topics obviously vary widely from year to year. Last year my son wrote about a pair of trainers!

My ds said his choices were :

1-My Brilliant Idea

2-Visiting Relatives

3-The Balloon

4-It was a while before I realised my cat could talk

5-What makes a good friend

6-The school rules

It seems that some titles are the same all over Kent but some may vary according to region.

My DD tells me she wrote about a balloon. Don't know if that helps any of you.

My DS said that he wrote about "my favourite day out". I'm a bit disappointed seeing the other options, I really fancy having a crack at the cat one myself!!!

That looks like a good mix of titles. Different types of writing, so you could have a chance to shine even if fiction writing wasn't your forte.

digressing slightly I still remember my 11+ title (from1968!)

Stories my Grandfather Told.

As mine was an ex merchant seaman, who had travelled the world and told the most amazing tall tales ever, I was spoilt for choice!
