Yes. Particularly if as you say he had no tutoring. If you look thru' old threads you will find a few which suggest that it is the 11plus borderline children that often derive the greatest benefit from a GS education.

Thanks, D of K, that's reassuring. I just re-read the appeals section of the admissions booklet and it said that the panel would only allow it if they thought the pupil could cope.

The head will get flowers tomorrow, that's for sure.
