DS was very lucky and got a place at his first choice in the allocations at the beginning of the month.
Reading here I realise how lucky we were and I am very grateful. I do hope the news about movement on the waiting lists brings good news to some of you waiting for places. Good luck.

Each paper carries 140 marks so for the three papers = 420 the maximum or highest score. However these arent raw scores, as as guideline these were the raw scores for previous years.
To achieve 140, a child with a September birthday would need the following raw scores
VR: 60 – out of 80 questions – 75%
NVR: 54 – out of 72 questions – 75%
Maths: 42 – out of 50 questions – 84%!!
To achieve 120, a child with a September birthday would need to achieve the following raw scores
VR: 43 = 54%
NVR: 39 = 54%
Maths: 28 = 56%
So to get 415 a child need to get almost full scores in each paper and thats about 75% across the board. This can go slightly up or down depending on the cohort but if you are looking at superselectives like Judd and Skinners you have to be aiming for full scores as the cut off is getting higher year on year.

The weighting for summer born children works out at a maximum of 2 points per paper (for a 140 score). But as sherry_d says, it depends entirely on the cohort in the year of the testing, and the difficult of the tests as to how much the raw scores are scaled.
You need to be aiming for around 80% or more in practice test papers to be hopeful of a place at Judd allowing for nerves and a possible harder test on the day.
It is possible to do it with a summer born - my DS scored 415 and is August born so best of luck.
