Re: GOOD LUCKY EVERYONE
Well he did the tests today, says they were 'just fine'.....and has just sat with his maths mad 18 yr old brother to go over some algebra revision....so seems the playground stress has subsided now that he's had a test and realises it wasn't as scary as made out to be.
I spoke with a couple of the other mothers who are also not 'stressing' the kids at home etc., but they mentioned too that there was alot of stress put on them from some taking the test, and from lots who aren't taking it!

Hi "familyinthevalley", I'm with you on the heavy tutoring and know plenty of children who passed well without much (and in some cases any!) tutoring.
I went through some papers with my eldest DD and worked out tactics for the types of questions but did not do that much, she passed fine and is now in Y8.
My younger DD sat it today and I have done even less with her - fingers crossed she will be OK. She was certainly one of the least stressed children entering school this morning (I on the other hand needed to consume a large amount of CDM during the day!).
