MGS to become a foundation school

Heard today that MGS is looking at becoming a Foundation school. Does that mean we will have a situation like the Judd school that only accepts children with very high scores.

Unlikely. Kent has half its grammar schools Foundation and none have gone down this route. Maidstone does not have the pressure (except this year) to dictate scores. Judd and Skinners are Voluntary Aided, and had a specific arrangement with KCC over scores which dates back many years. They can dictate terms because of all the Sussex and London borough applicants.
