Travel to and from school

Post by raymae »

Hi everyone ...
Now its time to decide on what school ... Im trying to take travel into consideration and figure out the routes to and from the grammars. Im in sevenoaks, Does anyone know if there are direct bus routes to any of the Grammars in the Tunbridge wells, Dartford or maidstone area's? Or if there is a good website for this type of information :?:

http://www.travelinesoutheast.org.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is very good - it will work out multiple routes in the best combinations of bus, train, coach and walking. Put in your postcode and the school postcode and set it to arrive at Monday 08.30 for a good indicator.

Hi Raymae,

Well done to your ds, I do recall your mistake with the Bexley forms! North Kent School Transport have various coaches which take kids to and from school around the Kent areas. They do pick ups from Seven Oaks. Do a google search for nkst or north kent school transport.

Raymae, there are great bus routes from Sevenoaks to Tonbridge and TW for the schools in those towns. The links to Maidstone aren't so great but they are there and the train may be a better option so worth looking at that too.

Have also found out that on google maps you can put in 2 postcodes and select bus and it shows you the journey by bus :D I need a new job as a transport organiser lol

Google maps is brilliant thanks MM. However, just put in our 4th choice journey and it involves 3 buses and 2 trains!!! Back to the drawing board.

It's no wonder we drive everywhere. I was looking at one timetable and it had 2 buses to the hospital. If you had an appointment between 10 and half past you were fine lol. We're back to bus option number one. It's direct and use a Freedom pass. The other way saves 10 mins and cost £54 every 4 weeks. Oh and she needs to change and if she misses the connecting bus is stranded with 25 mins until school starts in rush hour traffic!! Have to start practising getting up earlier next year!
