I did speak to someone yesterday who was thinking about it for next year. She thought the Hadlow school was a mini version of the college.....is it?

Don't know -- if it is, it sounds great. I'd love to have some extra gardeners in the family.

My last DS wants to go there, as he wants to go to the college eventually too but its a logistical nightmare in terms of travel. I'm trying to win the award for scattering children around Kent to be educated

I did! I applied to Hadlow as Plan C although I'm not sure they will be up and running by then. Also, I'm on the Sevenoaks email list, and got an email to say they got double the number of applications they needed.
