Phoned Skinners again to find out why they can't tell us ds's position on list. Apparantly the list they have received from KCC is incorrect - in wrong order or something. So the school has to sort it out. Hence their reason for not knowing everyones position at the moment.

The mystery of Skinner's static waiting list continues....... I spoke to the school this morning about DS, who's mark was 1 below previous cut off, and he has quite a few boys in front of him. Has there previously been a year where the cut off never appeared to move after the first round or is there simply a glut of boys with scores around the cut off this year?

I suppose the number of children with one particular score could be huge - think of the shape of the bell curve.

I certainly know far more boys with 423 this year than I knew boys with 420 when DS1 sat the test.

Static waiting lists are not good

Guess we'll be relying on our appeal then...
