If I fill in a form for my child to write the kent tests, do I have to fill in another form to the bexley borough if I want him to take the exam there as well. If so, how does it work in listing the options.

I am new to the 11+ system. Appreciate any help

You can take tests in more than one borough and many children do do that - just be careful not to overdo it !you have to be sure that your child reasonably travel to a school in the more distant boroughs.

You should get the test results prior to having to fill in the CAF or common application form.

When you complete the CAF you do so for the LEA you live in and can include schools from other boroughs .

The results you get will not be a guarantee if a place and you have to take into account other factors in the oversubscription criteria - for example some schools take those who score the highest marks while others take those who have reached the cut off and live nearest.

You also would be advised to include one school that you are fairly certain of getting into and would be reasonably happy with - some people list several very oversubscribed schools or only list ones that they have little chance of being eligible for under the oversubscription criteria. they can end up with a school they had not considered and not happy with.

Yes, and you have to apply separately for the kent and bexley tests as they are different councils.

Watch out as some schools do their own tests too. Which year will your child sit the tests?

Thanks for the information My DS is entering Year 4 and will be sitting the tests only in 2015. But we want to move for schooling and were considering Kent as an option more spicifically the Dartford schools

Read the admissions information on each individual school website ver carefully, and repeatedly, as it can change closer to the time.
