Weald catchment experience

I did a search and whilst there is much discussion about TWGGS catchment, there is little shared experience regarding Weald. So I was looking to see what experience people have of the extent of the catchment in recent years.

Firstly, for ease of reference, from their Admissions document, admissions are offered based on areas and distance from school within those areas. These areas are

a) Tonbridge and Malling district (some parishes only)
b) Sevenoaks district (pretty much all parishes south of M25ish)
c) Tunbridge Wells district (some parishes only)
d) All other kent parishes
e) Out of county

In the admissions document they state that in 2011, they allocated 65/67/8/13/6 places to categories a/b/c/d/e. Does that mean that only 8 girls applied from category (c) and they all got in, as the allocations continued into cats d and e?

Anecdotal advice suggests that standard allocation places usually run out within category (b) and that girls in category (c) don’t usually get places. That must mean that the 8, 13, and 6 girls from categories c, d and e, were all allocated via appeals?

Does anyone have any experience of people who did/didn’t get in in areas c/d/e? Ideally, I'm interested in whether Pembury is a no-hoper.

We live in Groombridge, the East Sussex not Kent part, and our daughter was given a place this year first round offer at the Weald. She was also given a TOG's place in second round offers. We took the Weald offer. I have no idea how they offer places as are last on the catchment area list. I know of children who where given a place who live in Mark Cross which is over 10 miles. We didn't expect an offer from the Weald. I think it is a year by year judgement.
