As I understand it, the schools find out the results week(s) before 16th - giving the headteacher time to start preparing an appeal (if necessary).
Does anybody know just how early the results are released to the schools?

Wish I hadn't read this – won't be able to resist giving searching looks to head, Y6 teachers and office staff morning and afternoon for the next 3.5 weeks now...and over-analysing every wink, blink, blank or pitying smile!

I think a sense of humour and copious amounts of red wine are the only things that will keep me going for the next few weeks
I'll keep you posted on any responses to my "searching face" or other strange goings on

Are the school allowed to tell you the results?

So do they appeal results if necessary on our behalf before the results come out?
I think I'll avoid the eyes of his teacher for now!

That's the way our school explained it - that by the time we find out what the results are (for Kent) the appeal would be well prepared and underway.

In Kent, the headteacher can appeal and send extra evidence ( school books etc) before the parents get the results.
