TWBGS open day

Post by whichwaytogo »

Hi, I missed the open evening tonight with my son and have an appointment for the open day on Friday afternoon. But I wonder if it might be a bit "flat" after the excitement of the open evenings we have been to recently? It will be a normal school day I would have thought, so no boys dressed as soldiers running around, crazy experiments and cake at every corner... Has anyone been to it before? I would kind of like my son to like it and I worry it might not be a fair comparison to a school "on show" as the others were. What do you think?

Any school can put on a good show for an open evening (although a couple of years ago, one local school failed even to give the impression that they were trying  - this lack of effort, coupled with seemingly incessant plugging of the school by one of her teachers, put DD right off it, and we didn't argue). What the school feels like one a proper school day is what your child will actually experience, so it is very useful to go along - even if not so much fun(!).
