I promised dd I would take her to Wagamamas on Wednesday regardless of the result which she is looking forward to. Just hoping there weren't be loads of families in there celebrating whilst I have my fixed grin pasted on.

It sounds like we were all having the same conversations with our DC's last night. My DD3 asked me 'what if all my friends pass and I don't - do you think they will laugh at me?'. I think she thinks she will be the only one taking the school to the local Comp whilst all her friends are having lots of fun together on the Grammar bus. Oh how little 10 year old minds work. We all, as parents, want to protect and provide for our DC's and give them the very best that we can. Whilst my DD3 has worked her absolute butt off because she wanted to and wanted a particular GS, it's true, how do we explain ourselves when we teach our children 'work hard and you will be rewarded'.
I seriously do not know if I will survive until results time tomorrow! Even though I know that the online registration will not be updated until after 5pm tomorrow, I still continue to check. I'M GOING CRAZY !!!!!!!

I'm also guilty of checking on more than one occasion today!fatbananas wrote:I admit I tried again this morning!Wilted wrote:It sounds like we were all having the same conversations with our DC's last night. Re: 2 days left for Results to be announced - anyone nervous
I haven't checked the KCC website today - am leaving that to tomorrow! I have been refreshing the threads on here though. I'm just feeling quite helpless. It would be far better for KCC to send out all the scores (I believe Medway does this) rather than us all having to ask schools/apply to KCC for the information. We have had no information from our school regarding scores. I'm worrying that we only have a week or so to half-term and if DD fails we don't have a clear choice for secondary schools and we need to submit by the end of the month. Does anyone know if headteachers will discuss individual scores and offer advice if we want to go to appeal?

I should be able to breeze through without a care by now, but that could not be further from how I feel. Dc4's ability in my opinion is leagues above his two GS sisters, but this is what makes it so difficult for me to bear. The unpredictability of this new test scares me. I have no confidence in it.
The thought of him being let down by the system and not passing when I (and his teachers) know he should makes me so angry. And people saying he will do well wherever he goes, annoys me , they obviously do not know my Ds as well as they think they do.
He will be absolutely devastated if he does not pass. I will be devastated for him.
It was easier 3 years ago with DD, as she was borderline so I felt no pressure and that a pass would be a bonus. But this time I feel like Ds would have been robbed if he does not pass. It feels so much worse to have a DC they say is a "dead cert" because that's extra pressure and actually there is no such thing anymore (if there ever was).
I feel physically sick every time I think of the results email and have an almost constant nauseous feeling that increases with every wave of anxiety that regularly flows over me. I have not slept properly for weeks and cannot focus on anything as i cannot take my mind off it no matter how hard I try. Seriously, I have never felt so anxious in my entire life!!
Wednesday afternoon cannot come soon enough...
Good luck to everyone waiting for results. I hope your dc's get the results they deserve and have worked so hard for
Frangipani, this is me holding your hand tight for good news tomorrow! I can only imagine how you feel......... but same here, I am at the very edge of my seat at work!
Trying hard not to lose my rag at dh, dd and ds who took the exam!! Anxiety is an awful thing isn't it just? How can awaited results of an 11 year old give us so much physiological stress.
I really hope you will be posting great results on this forum tomorrow, hang on in there!! hold tight!! Soon come.

I feel as nervous as I did when waiting for Medway results on 3rd . The disappointment made me question why I was put my DD through it all in the first place, I was as gutted (if not a bit more) than she was...
My DD wanted desperately to pass Medway test for fort pitt, but it wasn't to be...
Good luck to all the parents and children for tomorrow.
We never use the other 'F word' when discussing 11+ results, better to say 'not passed'

Or perhaps better to say "high school assessment" or "grammar school assessment". Feel for you all - my third child received a high school assessment two years ago and was devastated. DC1 and DC2 both at grammar school. Well we appealed and finally got a place but I am glad I have another year before I have to go through it all again with DC4. Fingers crossed for all of you and if the results don't go the way you hoped, there are still things you can do if you want to aim for grammar school.
Re: 2 days left for Results to be announced - anyone nervous
So what will the email actually say? Selective or non-selective or Grammar School/High School? Sorry first time round for me ... Also, am I right in thinking emails aren't usually before 4 pm, always after, or do they sometimes start circulating them earlier?
